Cross-Platform WhatsApp Data Transfer: Android↔iOS & Same-OS Transfers

Worried about losing your WhatsApp chats when switching phones? MobileTrans makes it easy to transfer WhatsApp data between Android and iPhone, as well as between devices running the same operating system. With the new AI-powered WhatsApp transfer feature, you can also identify large, duplicate, low-value, or invalid files before restoring data—helping you save storage space and speed up the transfer process.

It supports transferring WhatsApp messages and media files from Android to iPhone, iPhone to Android, Android to Android, and iPhone to iPhone.

Step 1. Launch MobileTrans and Connect Both Phones

1. Open MobileTrans on your computer and go to App Transfer > WhatsApp.

2. Select one of the available transfer modes:

• Transfer — replaces the existing WhatsApp data on the target device.
• Transfer and Merge — keeps both old and new chats on the target device.

3. Connect both phones to the computer. MobileTrans will automatically detect the devices and load the WhatsApp data.

4. If needed, enable AI-powered transfer to optimize the restore process.

5. Click Start to continue. Messages are selected by default for a faster transfer, while other data types can be manually selected.

Step 2. Review AI Data Optimization Results

Once the backup is analyzed, the AI Data Optimization window will appear. The AI automatically identifies content such as:

• Large files that may take up unnecessary storage space
• Duplicate media that can be excluded from restoration
• Low-value files that are less important to keep
• Corrupt or invalid files that cannot be restored properly

Review the suggested items and deselect any content you do not want to restore to the target device. This helps save storage and improves transfer efficiency.

If you prefer to restore everything, simply click Skip. Otherwise, click Start Restore to proceed with the optimized transfer.

Step 3. Complete the WhatsApp Transfer

1. Keep both devices connected throughout the transfer process.

2. Wait until MobileTrans finishes restoring the selected WhatsApp data to the target device.

3. After the process is complete, open WhatsApp on the target phone to verify that your chats and media have been transferred successfully.
