We all know YouTube Music does not support any native option to export music. So if you've uploaded your favorite songs to YouTube Music and want to download them to your computer or export them to another music platform, you need a perfect technique to operate efficiently.
To help you out, we've devised several workarounds that you can employ to export YouTube music playlists, and we'll discuss just that in a few seconds from now. Keep reading to find out more.
Part 1: Export playlists from YouTube Music via Takeout
Part 2: Export YouTube Music Playlist Through Download
Part 3: Export YouTube Music Playlists to URL or CSV
Part 4: Export YouTube Music playlists to Spotify for FREE
Our first method to export playlists from YouTube Music involves using Google Takeout. It's a great option if you intend to export all YouTube Music playlists to a computer and play them on other music players.
You might ask, what is Google Takeout? It's a service created by Google to enable users to export and save a copy of any content in their Google account.
With Google Takeout service, you can quickly export your YouTube Music library or music you upload to YouTube Music. The tool exports multiple files to your Google account, including the files of songs you uploaded to YouTube Music (they'll all be in the same format that you uploaded them) and the.csv files. The .csv files contain the metadata of your YouTube library.
Here is how Google Takeout service works;
Step 1: Open Google Takeout in your browser.
Step 2: Scroll down and make sure the checkbox next to YouTube and YouTube Music is ticked. Then, click All YouTube Data included.
Step 3: Click OK and select Next Step.
Step 4: Click the drop-down icon under Transfer to and select your preferred location where to save exported playlist.
Step 5: Choose a File type and File size. Then click Create Export.
Step 6: Finally, Google will begin the exportation process. This usually takes some time. So, you have to be patient.
Unfortunately, YouTube Music allows only users with a premium subscription to download playlists, even the ones you uploaded beforehand. What's more surprising is that the music files won't be saved on your device even after downloading. Instead, they'll only be accessible within the YouTube Music app.
So, if your reason for exporting YouTube Music playlists is to be able to play your songs offline, you can download them by following the step-by-step guide below;
Step 1: Open YouTube Music and locate your playlist.
Step 2: Click the three-dot icon next to the song you intend to download and click Download from the pop-up list.
Step 3: You should find your downloaded music under Menu > Download.
Note: You cannot play the songs you download from YouTube Music Playlist on other apps.
For folks who haven't decided which music platforms to ditch YouTube Music for, you can easily export your playlists to a URL or CSV file. However, to perform such an operation, you need online music transfer tools like TuneMyMusic and Soundiiz.
Step 1: Open TuneMyMusic website and click Let's Start. Then, select the source platform as YouTube Music.
Step 2: Sign in to your YouTube Music account and select the playlist you wish to transfer. Click Select Destination afterward.
Step 3: Scroll down and click Export File from the options.
Step 4: Finally, click Start Moving My Music on the summary page to finish the operation.
Step 1: Visit Soundiiz website in your browser and click Start Now to log in or create an account.
Step 2: Then, click YouTube Music from the left side and select Playlists.
Step 3: Click the three-dots icon next to the playlist you want to transfer and select Export As A File from the drop-down list.
Step 4: Select URL Text File from the pop-up window.
