How to enable one-handed keyboard on iPhone?
If typing feels awkward on a larger iPhone, one-handed keyboard mode shifts the keys to the left or right side so they are easier to reach with your thumb.
Why It Helps
- It shortens the distance your thumb has to travel.
- It is useful on Max or Plus-size displays.
- You can switch back to the full keyboard in a second.
What to Do
- Open any app that shows the keyboard.
- Touch and hold the emoji or keyboard icon.
- Choose the left-handed or right-handed keyboard layout.
- To return to normal, tap the arrow on the empty side of the keyboard.
Pro Tip
If you switch hands often, use the keyboard menu instead of going through Settings. It is the quickest way to toggle layouts.
