How to set a data warning and limit on Samsung?
You can set a Samsung data warning to get alerted before you reach your plan cap, and a data limit to stop mobile data automatically if you want a harder cutoff. The option usually lives in Data usage or Billing cycle settings.
Steps
- Open Settings, go to Connections, and tap Data usage.
- Open Billing cycle and data warning, or Data warning and limit on some phones.
- Set the monthly cycle date so the phone tracks the same period as your mobile plan.
- Turn on Data warning and optionally Data limit, then enter the amounts you want.
Quick Checks
- Set the warning a little below your actual carrier cap so you have room for timing differences.
- A hard data limit can stop mobile data suddenly, so use it only if you want strict control.
- Data saver is a softer option if you want to reduce use without fully blocking it.
Tips
- If you travel or change plans often, recheck the billing date so the warning stays accurate.
- Watch for carrier-side data counting differences, especially when roaming or using dual SIM.
