How to put apps to sleep on Samsung?

Putting apps to sleep stops unused apps from running in the background as often, which can reduce battery drain. Samsung lets you choose between Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps.

Steps
  1. Open Settings and go to Battery and device care, then tap Battery.
  2. Open Background usage limits.
  3. Turn on Put unused apps to sleep if you want Samsung to manage inactive apps automatically.
  4. Open Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps, tap Add, and choose the apps you want to restrict.
Quick Checks
  • Sleeping apps can still wake up sometimes when you use them again.
  • Deep sleeping apps stay more restricted and usually will not run in the background until you open them.
  • Messaging, health, tracker, or security apps may need to stay out of these lists.
Tips
  • Start with a few low-priority apps instead of aggressively restricting everything at once.
  • If notifications stop arriving, remove that app from Sleeping or Deep sleeping lists.
