How to erase a stolen iPhone remotely?

If your iPhone has been stolen and recovery looks unlikely, you can remotely erase it through Find My or iCloud to protect your personal data.

Quick Checks
  • Find My must already have been turned on before the phone was lost.
  • Activation Lock remains on after a remote erase, which helps protect the device.
  • If the iPhone is offline, the erase will begin the next time it connects.
Fixes
  1. Open the Find My app on another device or go to iCloud.com/find.
  2. Select the stolen iPhone.
  3. Choose the option to erase the device and confirm the action.
  4. Afterward, keep monitoring your account and carrier steps instead of removing the device too early.
MobileTrans Tip

Regular backups matter here. If your data is already backed up to iCloud or a computer via MobileTrans, remotely erasing a stolen phone becomes much less stressful.
