How to check battery health on iPhone?

You can check iPhone battery health from Settings to see how much capacity the battery still holds and whether iOS has detected a service issue. This is the fastest way to understand whether poor battery life is caused by normal aging or by something else.

Steps
  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Tap Battery Health or Battery Health & Charging.
  4. Review Maximum Capacity and any service recommendation shown on the page.
What the battery health section means
  • Maximum Capacity shows how much charge the battery can hold compared with when it was new.
  • A lower number can mean shorter screen time and more frequent charging.
  • A service message usually means the battery may need professional attention.
Pro Tip
  • Check battery health when the phone is cool and not plugged in so the reading is easier to interpret.
  • Do not judge battery condition only by one bad day of usage, because brightness, apps, and signal strength can also affect battery life.
  • If the percentage is still decent but runtime feels poor, review background activity before assuming the battery is failing.
