How to hide lock screen notifications on Samsung?
You can stop Samsung from showing notification content on the lock screen so only basic alerts appear until the phone is unlocked. On newer One UI versions, this option may be labeled Hide content while locked.
Steps
- Open Settings and tap Notifications.
- Tap Lock screen notifications or Hide content while locked.
- Choose to hide notification content or turn off lock screen notifications entirely.
- Send yourself a test message to confirm the preview is no longer visible on the lock screen.
Quick Checks
- Some One UI versions also let you hide or show lock-screen content for each app separately.
- Hiding content still lets you know a message arrived without showing the private text itself.
- Work-profile or business apps can have separate notification controls.
Tips
- This is one of the simplest privacy improvements for anyone who sets a phone down at work or in public.
- If you still see previews, check both the global lock-screen setting and the per-app notification setting.
