Part 1: The Latest News about iPhone 14 [Updated]

07/22 Update

Apple may offer minor updates to iPhone 14 while saving big upgrades for iPhone 15 - This is news from many top analysts, including Walls Street and Loop Capital Market's John Donovan.

John Donovan mentioned that there could be a new feature 'Satellite Link' in the iPhone 14 series - it might be like emergency satellite communications connectivity. Plus, the pro models could have an 'Always On' display.

Boomerang also reported that the standard iPhone 14 model will still use the A15 chip, while the pro and Promax models will use a new A16 processor.

07/22 Update

A new update that was released on July 1st says that there might be no iPhone Mini anymore and replaced by a new iPhone 14 Max or iPhone 14 Plus - this change is because of the unpopularity of the iPhone mini models amongst customers.

Now, Apple wants to focus on large iPhone sizes, and the new iPhone 14 max is said to be a 6.7-inch iPhone.

Part 2: iPhone 14 Release Date

It's said that the iPhone 14 lineup will be released in September. However, to clear the air on this news, we also took our time to review the history of iPhone release dates.

From research on Apple iPhone releases, Apple usually holds a general annual event to announce the iPhone models, which happens mainly on the first or second Tuesday in September. If we consider that, the annual event could be held by September 6th or September 13th this year, though Labor Day in the United States is September 5th. So, there's a likelihood that the event data this year will be September 13th. However, we're still not sure about this date as there are high possibilities that there could be delays.

That being said, for folks who are looking to pre-order the new iPhone 14, unfortunately, there's no fixed date for this yet. Plus, even if you pre-order, the shipping date might vary depending on your country.

Well, there's a probability that his prediction is right or wrong. But irrespective of the outcome, we believe there's a high chance of an increase in price for the iPhone 14 lineup. Besides, leaks from several rumors indicated that the iPhone 14 pro max could cost up to $1,199 this year.

Part 4: iPhone 14 Design

Are you to expect something very different in the iPhone 14 design? Read on to find out!

1. Body Design

body design

A leak from Jon Prosser stated that Apple would introduce a thicker chassis without round volume buttons and a rear camera bump. Is this true? Well, based on later rumors, his information tends to be incorrect. Yes, in March, rumors surfaced on the internet that the body design of the iPhone 14 lineup will look very similar to the iPhone 13 models - the same flat-edged designs.

2. iPhone 14 Design - No Notch

iphone 14 design no notch

There isn't going to be an iPhone 14 mini model anymore. We should expect all iPhone 14 models to be large-sized phones - "iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max".

Also, the iPhone 14 Pro models will no longer have a notch - Instead, they'll be replaced with a hole and pill-shaped cutouts for both the camera and the Face ID. Although there's not too much difference between the hole and pill-shaped design, it'll create more space and make the front cameras less obtrusive. This design won't be on the standard iPhone 14 model!

3. iPhone 14 Colors

iphone 14 colors

Unverified rumor has it that we might see a new purple color featured in all the iPhone 14 models. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are rumored to be available in colors like red, black, blue, white, and purple, while the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max might be available in silver, gold, purple, and graphite colors. Now iPhone 15 is just around the corner, the rumored colors of iPhone 15 are also under hot discussion.

4. Weight & Material

According to reports from an investor 'Jp Morgan Chase', Apple might use a high-quality titanium chassis design on the iPhone 14 - Titanium is stronger compared to steel and iron, plus it's more scratch-resistant and corrosion-resistant.

Part 5: iPhone 14 Specs

Let's take a look at what rumors have for us concerning iPhone 14 specs in terms of display, camera, chip, etc. Read on to find out more.

1. Display

display

Display analyst Ross said that "when measured as a standard rectangular shape, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have slightly larger screens. The iPhone 14 Pro will have a 6.12-inch screen, compared to a 6.06-inch screen on the iPhone 13 Pro, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a 6.69-inch screen, which is a bit larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max's 6.68-inch display".

In addition to that, Apple is said to be sourcing LTPO OLED displays for iPhone 14 Pro lineup - this is to allow 120Hz ProMotion refresh rates. There are rumors that Apple is planning to source its displays from LG Display and BOE this time.

2. Camera

camera

We could see improvements in the ultra-wide camera for iPhone 14 model. Yes, rumor has it that the camera bumps on iPhone 14 will be thicker and wider on the Pro versions - this is to enable them to accommodate the 48-megapixel camera that Apple'll add.

Besides, in an interview with Apple's analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, he stated that "Apple will upgrade the telephoto camera from 6-element lens to a 7-element lens".

3. Chip

chip

The Apple standard iPhone 14 models will continue to have the A15 Bionic chip that's on the iPhone 13 lineup. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will come with a faster A16 chip which will be built on the same N5P process used in creating the A15 chip. Expectedly, Apple will upgrade to 17A Bionic chip after iPhone 14 Pro Max.

4. Touch ID

With lots of talk about the iPhone 14 models having a touch ID, we took our time to do our own research on this, and unfortunately, the majority of the leaks think this won't happen. So, while people are still hoping to see this feature in the iPhone 14 models, the evidence we got is still against it.

5. RAM

Although rumors from the Chinese supply chain have it that iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB RAM to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S22, research made it clear that Apple doesn't integrate features to compete with other devices. However, Apple's analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 14 lineup will feature 6GB RAM - the same amount of RAM as the iPhone 13 Pro models.

6. Storage Space

Since the iPhone 13 Pro models added a 1TB storage grade, lots of rumors expect the iPhone 14 Pro models also to have an upgrade in their storage grade - maybe 2TB.

That being said, there's still no solid clue to back this up since our source has a track record of not being reliable. So, for now, our fingers are still crossed concerning whether we would see an upgrade in storage in iPhone 14 models.

7. USB-C

According to Boomerang's Mark Gurman and Apple's analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is said to be testing the USB-C feature in future iPhone models. However, the iPhone 14 models will continue with Lightning.

8. Satellite Connectivity

It's for a fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 enables some satellite connectivity features. So. With this in mind, many rumors have it that Apple plans to integrate satellite-based emergency features into the iPhone 14 lineup, enabling users to send text messages during emergencies. Even in areas with no stable cellular network or WiFi signal coverage.

Also, a feature will allow users to report crucial emergencies like plane crashes, fire outbreaks, etc., via satellite networks.

9. Battery Life

The latest rumors are that all iPhone 14 models will have bigger batteries. However, the iPhone 14 Pro max is said to have a smaller battery compared to the prior iPhone 13 Pro max. The big question now is "Will such batteries affect the battery life of the iPhone 14 Pro max?" Well, that we have no idea, but we believe Apple knows what's best for their users. Now the rumored iPhone 15 Pro Max outperforms the iPhone 14 Pro Max regarding its battery life.
