bringing new possibilities in communication and creation.

Samsung's latest smartphone lineup includes three phone models, all of which come with these AI-powered tools.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra, in particular, has been highlighted for putting AI at the center stage of its functionality.

Buy It If...

1. You use cameras a lot. The Samsung Galaxy S24 series uses an AI-powered Enhanced Zoom to capture more delicate movements and Generative Edit to automatically fill in the borders of photos.

2. You need to frequently communicate across languages. The Live Translate and Interpreter features of Samsung Galaxy AI empower you to make contacts despite languages barriers.

3. You want the brightest display. The S24 has an impressive brightness of 2,600 nits, so much better than 1,750 nits of the Galaxy S23. You can view your screen clearly even in direct sunlight.

Don't Buy It If...

1. You are tired of the same design. The Galaxy S24 series looks almost identical to its predecessors. But there is information that says the S25 might take on a brand new look to provide a fresh feel.

2. You are a Galaxy S23 user. Although Samsung AI features bring a lot of exciting experiences, the overall upgrades are not worth changing from the S23 to the S24. The two models are rather close in capabilities.

3. You enjoy the Apple ecosystem. The ecosystem is always a big concern for phone users. If you are used to the iPhone, Macbook, or Apple TV, then changing to the Samsung Galaxy S24 might not be the best choice, as you will have to get familiar with a brand new system.

Literally every single smartphone brand is gonna do the exact same thing (having AI features).

Not worth it! S23 Ultra is nearly the same, and it will get some of the AI features.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra First Look

Cameras
Design
Colors
Performance

There is no dramatic change to S24 cameras, but Samsung's cameras have always been the top among mobile phones. The spces of the main camera are 50MP f/1.8 for Galaxy S24/S24+, 200MP f/1.7 for S24 Ultra. Compared to the 10MP 10x telephoto camera of S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra's 50MP 5x periscope camera is a drop in optical zoom range but a big boost in resolution.

The standout of Galaxy S24's cameras is the built-in AI that adds more clarity and accuracy for both capturing and editing photos. Processing powered by AI will bridge the gaps from the main camera at 3x to 5x, then from 5x to 10x, and employ a high-resolution prpcessing method to zoom even further to achieve the 100x 'Space Zoom'. Samsung has therefore named this system 'Quad Optical Zoom', for the purpose of providing clear images across four distinct zoom ranges.

What's more, with the Space Zoom powered by ProVisual Engine, the enhanced Nightography features ensure that images and videos are outstanding in any setting, even at high zoom levels. The Galaxy S24 Ultra's increased pixel size, now at 1.4 μm, allows it to capture more light in low-light conditions, a 60% improvement over its predecessor.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 Ultra reduces blur with broader optical image stabilizer (OIS) angles and advanced compensation for hand movement.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra have been crafted to offer a sleek, strong, and stunning design experience. The devices represent a significant leap forward in the smartphone space with their striking aesthetics and advanced features.

Upon first glance, the Galaxy S24 bears a resemblance to its predecessor. However, a closer look reveals the new One-Mass design language characterized by more linear sides and a lightly textured frame, replacing the previous glossy texture. It seems that Samsung and Apple have adopted similar design principles for their latest phone models, making them appear more alike in this generation.

The new frame is crafted from an 'enhanced' Armor Aluminum, touted by Samsung as being 10% stronger than previous versions. Both the front and back of the phone are covered in Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the phone continues to have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The S24 Ultra, in particular, stands out with its new Titanium design, which not only enhances the phone's visual appeal but also improves its durability and longevity. This is the first-ever Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame, marking a major milestone in Samsung's design evolution.

Despite being slightly taller, the Galaxy S24 maintains a similar size and weight as its predecessor. This is quite impressive, given that the screen size has been increased to 6.2 inches. Samsung managed to achieve this by adopting a flatter frame and introducing the thinnest bezels ever seen in their phones, which are now uniform. The front camera's punch hole is also smaller, enhancing the immersive viewing experience.

Inspired by nature, Samsung introduces various gender colors for the Samsung S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra. Altogether, there are 7 colors for the Samsung Galaxy S24/S24+: Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Sandstone Orange, Sapphire Blue, and Jade Green.

For the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the colors are similar but have other names. And only a few colors look slightly different. They are Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet, Titanium Yellow, Titanium Orange, Titanium Blue, and Titanium Green.

Although you can get most of the colors from carriers or retailers, such as Amazon and Best Buy, Samsung reserves several exclusive colors that you can only find on the official website. They are more refreshing than the traditional colors. And these colors include Jade Green/Titanium Green and Sapphire Blue/Titanium Blue.

Samsung definitely has a liking for green, no doubt. For the Galaxy S23 line, the green variant was officially named Lime. The Sapphire Blue resembles the Sky Blue color offerd on the Galaxy S22.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra both offer remarkable performance, featuring high-quality displays, powerful processors, and durable battery life.

The standard Galaxy S24 comes with a 6.2-inch screen, while the S24 Ultra provides a more expansive viewing experience with its larger 6.8-inch display. Both models support a 1-120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and responsive interactions. The S24 Ultra stands out with its higher maximum brightness, offering excellent visibility even under bright sunlight1.

Under the hood, both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SM8650-AB (4 nm) chipset. This powerful system-on-chip, combined with up to 12GB of RAM on the S24 Ultra, ensures that both phones can handle demanding tasks and applications with ease.

In terms of storage, the S24 Ultra offers multiple options, starting from 256GB up to a whopping 1TB, giving users plenty of room for their apps, photos, videos, and other files.

As for the battery, the battery sizes for the three models are separately 4,000mAh, 4,900mAh, and 5,000mAh. The charging specs are 25W wired, 15W wireless for S24, 45W wired, 15W wireless for S24 Plus, and 45W wired, 15W wireless for S24 Ultra. In a word, the battery life and charging speed are rather competitive in the mobile market.
